SHIPPING, EXCHANGE & CANCELLATION
Processing Times (the time from my jewellery bench to the post office)
I process Ready-To-Ship items within 2 business days. I make and process Made-To-Order items in 1 to 2 weeks. If you need to receive your order by a specific day, please contact me prior to placing the order and I will try to make it happen.
I ship anywhere in Canada with Canada Post. You have the option at checkout to ship:
ExpressPost (tracked mail) $15
Postal delivery times range from 2 to 10 business days but I cannot make any guarantees, especially at busy times like Christmas or Valentine’s.
When I ship an item, you will receive an email to let you know your order is on its way! The email will include the tracking number if you chose ExpressPost shipping so you can track the delivery.
I carefully package all orders to avoid all damage. I am not responsible for issues that may be caused by the postal service, such as delayed, lost, or stolen items.
International shipping - If you would like to receive Hand Laboratory anywhere outside of Canada, please contact me prior to making your purchase for a quote and to make sure it’s possible.
Local Delivery & Pick-Up
Due to Covid-19 and to minimize interaction, I am not offering in-studio pick up or local delivery at the moment.
Returns / Exchanges
I do not accept returns. I try my best to show the true form, essence, colour and fit of all the jewellery I make and I always inspect each piece, one by one, before shipping it. I will never sell you something that is not well made.
I accept requests for exchanges within 30 days from the original time of purchase, and only for purchases from the Hand Laboratory Online Shop. Note there might be a charge for difference in pricing, and all involved shipping expenses will be the responsibility of the customer. Jewellery must be in good condition and in original packaging. I will treat each request on a case-by-case basis and reserve the right to make the final decision about exchange requests. Please contact me before sending any jewellery back.
I do not offer returns or exchanges for jewellery purchased from my stockists. Please check their own exchange or return policies.
Replacements / Repairs
Hand Laboratory products are made to last and I believe in repair and maintenance over disposal. However, to avoid all damage, always treat your jewellery kindly!
Many pieces or finishes may be delicate. Don’t bend the parts, scratch the surface, pull roughly or put it in imminent danger (dogs, kids, husbands, anyone?) I will not replace items that have been damaged due to rough handling or improper care or wear after they are safely delivered to you.
I am not liable or responsible for replacing jewellery that falls off and gets lost. But I know the sad, sad feeling of losing a single earring, so if you lose one, please contact me for the possibility to purchase a single earring to match.
If your well-loved piece requires refinishing or repair, please contact me for repair options or easy at-home solutions.
I will honour any cancellation requests made ONLY within 24 hours of orders being placed. If you need to cancel your order, email me with your name and brief order description. Once I approve a cancelled order, I will issue a full refund.
